Intersensory Adjustments
Vision + Touch
in-person at Bodhi Movement Studio in Farmington, Michigan
“Seeing is touch at a distance” said Ida Rolf.
The way we hold and move our body in space can tell our story if we listen closely. There are a variety of factors that influence posture and movement: daily activities, cultural conditioning, emotional landscape, patterns of thought, and lived history. More often than not, we are unintentional and habitual with the way we move. We can, however, cultivate multisensorial integration to expand and attune the practice by developing a skillful eye and ethically grounded touch.
In this immersion, we will utilize the vision to address postural patterns, and develop informed touch to receive sensory-somatic information and apply embodied adjustments. In developing these skills, we work to “unhold” by addressing the root cause of common deviations in the yoga practice, as well as possible causes of pain and dysfunction both on and off the mat. This work allows us apply body-minded adjustments to address subconsciously conditioned movement patterns, and develop greater depth of understanding and inner awareness. 5 hours bankable to Katonah® Yoga Certification.
